About the F40 Legacy:

When Ferrari announced the F40 in 1987, it was a definitive statement for the brand’s 40th anniversary. It was not just another supercar; it was a pure, raw, road-legal race car. In fact, it was the final car that founder Enzo Ferrari personally approved, making it his last automotive will and testament.

Ferrari built the F40 with no compromises. The iconic body, designed by Pininfarina, used exotic materials like carbon fiber, Kevlar, and aluminum. As a result, the car weighed an incredibly light 1,100 kg (2,425 lbs). This spartan, lightweight philosophy was intentional: Ferrari provided no power steering, no traction control, and no ABS, demanding total respect from its driver.

Its heart was the legendary 2.9L Tipo F120A twin-turbocharged V8, which unleashed 471 horsepower. Consequently, the F40 became the first production car to shatter the 200 mph (320 km/h) barrier, snatching the “world’s fastest car” title from its German rivals. While Ferrari originally planned a small production run, demand was so overwhelming that they ultimately produced 1,311 examples. It remains the ultimate 1980s analog supercar, an icon unrivaled in automotive history. This TLV F40 diecast model honors that legacy.
